At Electric Run, you can walk or run (just make sure you stay on the left if you’re a walker) and stay at your own pace, while you enjoy all the colours, music, and decorations scattered throughout the course.

All course lands are decorated with light installations and glow-in-the-dark designs, perfect for photo taking and sudden daydreams of being in Mad Hatter’s mystic land.

Electric Run has the energy of a full-blown concert but without the negativity. Every participant arrives with the expectation of having fun, which is what Electric Run is all about. The finish line celebration involves partying with an International artist or two, followed by a spectacular fireworks show that will be hard to forget. A must see for those who look forward to light shows!

Ex-Electric Run participants know very well that the race begins with you in a clean and crisp t-shirt……

This year’s run is going to be louder, brighter, and definitely more COLOURFUL! Here are a few tips and tricks on how and what to do (especially for Electric Run newbies) before joining this year’s ELECTRIC RUN MALAYSIA 2017!

1. Register for ELECTRIC RUN.
Registering is only the beginning. Knowing that your name has been registered and that some of your friends know you are joining will probably give you more incentive to start training. Now go and get ready!

2. Training is KEY.
You don’t have to run or jog every day to prepare yourself for a 5K. A lil’ jog or run 2- 3 times a week would probably help you get in better shape than you already are in. This can involve jogging or running for short distances, up steep hills or stairs, or walking for long distances. By the way, walking to the kitchen does not count!

3. Stretch that body of yours!
When you begin walking or running more, certain parts of your body tend to get tighter particularly the tissues that surround your muscles. To ensure you don’t get injured while training or during the run, make sure you remember to stretch before and after your workouts.

4. Keep things hot by warming up!
A short jog of about 2 – 3 minutes before your run will do wonders to your muscles. Not only will your muscles be more prepared for the upcoming 5K, this lil’ trick will get you excited for what’s about to happen at the finish line!

5. Don’t eat too much before the run!
Keep your hunger at bay by having a simple small meal about 2-3 hours before the race. This will allow you to sufficiently digest your food, but still have enough energy for the event. If you tend to get hungry more often than normal people, a small pick-me-up like half a banana or a small handful of raisins or nuts just 5-10 minutes before the race will keep your tummy grumbles on the down-low.

6. Expectations should be left at home!
Many people simply walk during their first Electric Run, since it is, after all, a completely untimed event. If you’re new to this whole 5K running thing, make sure you don’t impose any expectations on yourself, as this will only make you jittery (which defeats the purpose of a fun run, dunnit). Just relax, have fun, and perform at a pace that is comfortable for you and allows you to have a big smile on your messy, sweaty, happy face at the finish line.

These tips and tricks may or may not make your experience better, but there’s no harm trying right? Here’s a lil’ reminder though…..remember to wipe any drool or excessive sweat off your grinning face before you cross the finish line so you don’t look like an exhausted zombie in your post-race photos!

The world’s premiere 5km night time fun run, Electric Run is back for the third year running in Malaysia with a Recharged concept and a new venue, among others.

KUALA LUMPUR: One of the world’s most popular nocturnal fun runs is set to light up Malaysia again this year in what will be its biggest, brightest, neon coloured night run in the country yet on April 15 at Anjung Floria Putrajaya. Organized by The Livescape Group, and co-presented by Rexona, Electric Run Malaysia 2017 is also supported by Malaysia Major Events (MME). The 5km night time fun run this year is set to attract over 18,000 runners of all ages.

Livescape today also premiered the official aftermovie of Electric Run 2016 which can be viewed here.

“Electric Run is an internationally well-known brand and we are thrilled to be able to organise this for the third time in Kuala Lumpur. Last year saw our biggest turnout yet with close to 14,000 participants which also saw us bagging the Malaysia Book of Record’s “Largest Participation in a Neon Run” title. All around the world, Electric Run is known to bring the running experience to a whole new level and we want to make this night fun run a memorable one for our fans, both young and old, as we promote fitness and health in the liveliest way possible”, Muhammad Iqbal, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Livescape Group said.

Electric Run Recharged

The run this year features a couple of added changes with the most prominent being the Recharged concept. This year, participants at Electric Run Malaysia 2017 will each be receiving a limited edition PIX Mob Bracelet in addition to the official race tee, finisher’s medal and race bib. The bracelet illuminates various neon lighted themes across multiple zones throughout the race course to provide runners with a more immersive experience. The race course is set to transport runners through a light and sound journey through time, with each zone representing a unique colour theme and music era.

Electric Run Malaysia 2017 will feature eight Course Lands (one more than last year). The eight Course Lands are:
• The Start Line
• Yellow Zone – featuring the sounds of the 60s and 70s
• Red Zone – featuring the sounds of Hip Hop
• Black & Pastel – featuring the sounds of Top 40s Pop Music
• Green Zone – featuring the thumping sounds of Electronic Dance Music
• Two Mystery Lands – surprise Course Lands
• The Finish Line / Celebration Stage

After crossing the finish line, runners will end their run at a celebration stage where a post-race concert featuring internationally renowned artistes will be held. The line-up of artistes will be announced by mid-March.

A new family-friendly venue

The third Electric Run Malaysia also sees the race moving to Putrajaya. The flag off and finish line takes place at Anjung Floria Putrajaya with runners then being taken on a scenic route of Putrajaya where on April 15, will be transformed to a city of neon-themed lights. With approximately 18,000 runners expected to take part this year, organisers, The Livescape Group has decided to move the run this year to a space that can cater to larger numbers.

A more convenient run

For the first time ever, Electric Run Malaysia 2017 will also be providing a race pack delivery service in collaboration with SkyNet to registered participants. The optional service can be added on upon registration with minimal fees. This service also caters to participants travelling to Electric Run Malaysia 2017 from Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.

Last year’s run saw close to 14,000 participants as they came decked in their most eclectic and vibrant outfits to pay homage to the theme. Runners made their way through the various Course Lands before making their way to the finish line celebration where they partied with some of the biggest names in Malaysia including acts like Enterprise, Paperplane Pursuit, Kyoto Protocol, Jin Hackman and Dae Kim, and Nesh and TRuF. With the run culminating in an exhilarating finish, a spectacular fireworks show ended the night on a high note. For this year’s edition, organisers are promising an international artist to headline the post-run celebration stage.

“With Livescape, one thing’s for sure. We love our music. And staying true to the Electric Run way of celebrating at the finish line, fans can expect a popular commercial artiste at the celebration stage. More details on who this artiste is will be unveiled really soon”, Muhammad Iqbal added.
